Career Day is filled with activities relevant to each specific grade. See below for the breakdown. 

 

9th Grade 

Freshman will rotate through four workshops covering academics, college and career, and social/emotional topics. After the workshops, they will attend a college and career fair to introduce them to various schools and career fields. See the following page for workshop topics.

10th Grade 

Sophomores will be given the opportunity to take the PreACT or the ASVAB. The PreACT will help prepare students for the ACT, which is a standardized test used for college admissions. The ASVAB is a career exploration program that is highly recommended to students who need help deciding what career, college, or major to pursue. Both exams are FREE. See permission slips for more information on both exams. Students that decide not to test will attend college and career workshops covering academics, college and career, and social/emotional topics. All sophomores will attend a college and career fair. See the following page for workshop topics.

11th Grade 

Juniors were given the opportunity to sign up to take the SAT for FREE. Permission slips for this were due December 11th. Students that did not sign up for the SAT must take the ASVAB . The ASVAB is a career exploration program that is highly recommended to students who need help deciding what career, college, or major to pursue. The exam is FREE. See permission slip for more information. All juniors will attend a college and career fair.

12th Grade

Seniors will be rotating through 3 sessions throughout the day that will consist of a financial workshop hosted by foothill credit union, a guest speaker, and a senior meeting that will overview graduation information and feature a SDHS alumni panel. After all of the sessions, all groups will meet to engage in senior activities hosted by ASB.
