Workshop Topics

All freshman will participate in workshops on career day. Sophomores who are not testing for the Pre-ACT or the ASVAB will also participate in the workshops. Students will be given four workshop choices throughout the day. Registration will take place in English classes Thurs, Feb. 20 for sophomores and Fri. Feb. 21 for freshman.

SDCP/A-G: Students will receive an overview of the San Dimas Connection Project and A-G requirements. (All freshman will need to select this as one of their sessions)

Aviation: Cable Airport will discuss the career topic of aviation and the opportunities within it.

​

Stress Reduction & Relaxation Strategies: We live in a world where the goal of everything is material success. There is so much expectations for youth which causes anxiety and stress. The human design was not intended to live this way. We will go back to basics and just learn how to live life in the most simple way.

 

Careers and Opportunities in the Field of Psychology 101: Learn about opportunities in the wide-reaching and diverse field of Psychology and what it takes to pursue them.

College Admissions: Learn about common myths and misconceptions about college admissions, college prep, college costs, etc.

​

Cal States/ Cal Poly Pomona Admissions: Are you interested in attending a California State University after graduation? Learn more about what Cal Poly Pomona and the CSU system have to offer as we discuss Cal Poly Pomona campus highlights, CSU admissions requirements, impaction, financial aid, and much more!

Investment Advisor: General Description of what it takes to build a small business from the ground up.

​

Discover Your Purpose: There are a lot of factors to consider when choosing a career and a plan for after college. Come to this workshop to learn practical questions to ask yourself to discover your purpose.

Creative Careers: Learn about the many amazing creative careers that exist today such as fashion, animation, video game development, graphic design and much more

​

Starting Your Own Business: Learn about entrepreneurship and what it takes to start your own company. Besides the "nuts and bolts" of business ownership, the presentation includes inspirational stories of famous and not so famous entrepreneurs.

Automotive and Diesel Technology: Introduction to the automotive and medium/heavy truck industry. Topics will cover education, careers, economic factors, demands of the industry, aftermarket and racing technology. This workshop/presentation is for anyone who would like to learn about a great career in the automotive industry. A basic automotive diagnostic lesson will be included.

Careers in Design: There are many creative careers in business and design and I will introduce many of them.

Cosmetology/Esthetician: The lucrative and awesome career of Cosmetology and Esthetician

Mechanical Engineer: Learn about the field of mechanical engineering.

Architect: What is an Architect? What do Architects Do all Day? The steps to design. Grand Examples of Architecture.
